REVIEW | Myeongdong Topokki

Monday, 10 July 2017

Salam.

Finally, after more than 6 months of not having my favourite cuisine, today, I am satisfying my craving for Korean food *tears of joy*

B.bap, Dubuyo, Sopoong, Hanbing Cafe, Eid and now, I'd officially went to the famous Korean food place in Malaysia, Myeongdong Topokki 😍

Liptint: Etude House
Concealer: Maybelline
Sunblock: Banana Boat SPF50
Eyeshadow: Maybelline The Blushed Nudes
It was actually my treat for my one and only sister, Nurul Asyiqin because today is her 15th birthday. Both of us really really enjoy eating tteokbokki and since we were at The Mines because my mom wanted to fix her tab, so, I thought we should just walk-in into the restaurant and have whatever we craved for. I am definitely lucky my sister loves Korean food as much as I do if not, I would be one of the people who eats alone without anyone to accompany. That would be a sad life.
The restaurant was okay, it was clean and the staffs were friendly as well. I lined up at the counter while my sister sat at the table with good lighting we had chose before. I ordered quite a lot for 2 people to eat.

I'll show you the menu and everything in it made my mouth watery. If I have million in my wallet and most important, a big space in my belly, I would order every single food they serve there.

I ordered VS001 Dongdaemun Station set that include Topokki (Spicy Rice Cake), Mandu (Fried Dumpling) and Iced Green Tea that costs RM15.50

VM012 Haemul Ramyun (Seafood Ramyun) RM20.80 for Adik and VM018 Dol Sot Bibimbap Chicken RM18.80 for me

I also ordered AC001 Odeng (Fish Cake) RM8.50
Total price

I paid right after I ordered and at the receipt, there was stated my order number. All I have to do was wait for my number to be called and pick up my food to the table.

I was excited to see those 😍

Chicken Dol Sot Bibimbap came with the gochujang (chili paste), small bowl of seaweed soup, banchan (side dishes) and a drink

Seafood Ramyun that came with banchan, a drink and also kimbap

2 sticks of Odeng

Topokki, mandu and a drink in Dongdaemun Station set

It was my first time having bibimbap. I enjoyed mixing the sauce together with the rice, egg yolk, veges and chicken meat. The sauce has a sweet taste instead spicy unlike the name, gochujang which is chili paste. Because of that, it is suitable for kids and people who do not or can't eat spicy food. If you bring a friend, just order 1 set of bibimbap because the portion they give is big and enough for 2 person. It's saving 😉

Before mixing it all

After

Although the after mixing of bibimbap doesn't look good, but the taste is yummy!!! Chewy and sweet from the mushroom and gochujang. The banchan given to us consist of long bean sprinkled with sesame seeds, kimchi and fried anchovies. I like the kimchi hereeee because it tastes better than the one that is served in Sopoong which has a really strong garlic taste euwwwwww I dun like it.

Adik asked me how's the kimchi,

"Okay lah sedap, try lah"

Then she picked a big piece of it with the chopstick and put it in her mouth. Then, she started chewing.

Not long after that,

*Blueeeekkkk* a really loud sound she made there, ya ampun budak sekor ni =____="

She throwed it out and said she hates kimchi because it tastes like poops.

Errrrr as if she has ever taste poop before 😑 Overnya kau dik!!

As for the Seafood Ramyun, I wasn't really sure about the taste because I only had a spoonful of the soup. But to me, it is just nice and also not spicy. It tasted almost like Maggi Kari so, I think everyone will love it.

I believe she was happy inside 😒
The mandu they served are also nice. Kulit dumpling tu crunchy pastu filling dia boleh tahan sedap. Tapi dia tak served with any dipping. Jadi aku dipped 'em with toppoki sauce sebab Korean do that too.

Rasa toppoki tu hm just okay. Tak boleh lawan rasa Sopoong but still better than B.bap, Dubuyo. Tapi Hanbing Cafe punya tteobokki is the worst. Rasa pelik gila. Diorang tak guna gochujang. Rasa macam chili kering malaysia yang diblend. Mesti korang wonder kan kenapa aku kata macam tu, sebab aku pernah try konon nak buat chili paste guna cili kering kat rumah tapi tak jadi. Dia punya rasa euwwww yucks tak boleh tahan. One thing yang aku suka pasal Myeongdong Topokki punya spicy rice cake adalah rasa pedas tteobokki tu sendiri. Restoran lain punya tak pedas langsung. Nama je spicy rice cake 😓

After gobbled down all the food, we went shopping for new shawls at the same floor as Myeongdong Topokki and then to Jusco Cheras.

Maroon crumpled shawl for me and turqoise color for Mama
A heaven for me
The latest series of Diary of a Wimpy Kid

I am a big fan of Diary of a Wimpy Kid!! I have all the series in my cupboard exclude the first red ones because I had read it at high school library (how I fell in love with this cartoon novel) so, why bother buy the book that I have read, right? 💁 Jeff Kinney should really give me 30% discount for each new coming novel.

SubhanAllah cantikk

Overall: I am so satisfied with the food and the price is really cheap compared to other Korean restaurant!! Highly recommended ★★★★
